Emotions = Energy in Motion. 3 Steps to Allow Your Emotions to Flow

Emotions are energy in motion. When we suppress our emotions we are stopping the natural flow of the energy from moving through and being released.


We were told to stop being a baby, stop being so sensitive, to toughen up all at the expense of our internal flow.


I can also recognize that we are always in flow, in constant movement, and in action but it's in the conscious efforts to see and know that.


If we can tap into ourselves with curiosity instead of judgment, we can unravel and peel back the layers of that emotion that is coming through. After all, the emotion is leading you to your truth.

Explore this unraveling and allow your energy to be IN MOTION.


I am offering you 3 simple steps below that will allow your energy to be in motion and for you to gain clarity around what is happening within you during this emotion.


Step 1. Identify the feeling/emotion.

What are you feeling? Sadness, anger, judgment, shame, anxiousness, loneliness, confusion, etc.?

Write out all the feelings you're feeling even if it doesn't make sense to you at this moment, just write them down.


Step 2. Ask yourself "What does this remind me of?"

Ex; What other time in your life did you feel this way?

Journal your experience from your memory- notice what that time and THIS time have in common.

Ex; What do I feel today? I feel rejected, like I don't belong.

What does this remind me of? When i was kicked out of my sibling's room and had nowhere else to go, I felt i didn't belong and felt rejected by them.


Step 3. Allow your feelings to be expressed without holding anything back.

Speak to yourself or even to the person you saw in your memory as if they were right in front of you. This can be in writing or you can verbally express your feelings and thoughts out loud.


This last process could be quite heavy to some. But, remember the point of this exercise is to allow your emotions to be IN Motion, and to move through.


Lastly, when you are complete with step 3, accept the event, accept the memory, and accept how you felt without having to justify it. You felt what you felt, period.


It's okay to feel these things. We came to earth to have a human experience and so we allow these experiences to be our teachers, We allow our emotions (which is our body wisdom) to guide us to truth.


Our emotions guide us when we create the space and opportunity to tune into what they are speaking. Hence I say (your body speaks to you, all we have to do is listen).


And so thank yourself for being here. For being in this experience and more so for leaning into your emotions with curiosity.
